So very very sorry for your loss Judy, Carolyn, Jen and Sandy. Daryll was much loved by everyone who knew him as he was such a gentle and kind man. May the fact that he knew how much he was loved bring you some comfort now. He lived life well and you'll have so many wonderful memories to cherish.

Judy, we were so sorry to hear the sad news that Daryll lost his courageous battle. Hearing the sad news brought back memories of Alexander, camping and even the night you and Daryll saw me walking home after a long long party. We didn't get to see much of each other in the last few years but the last time Lou and I were over at your place it felt like it hadn't been any time at all.

Your family is such an important part of my childhood memories. Brookwood, Briarwood, or just hanging out on Perron street, your dad was always a very kind and patient man (especially with Jen and I!). I was lucky to have known him and learned from him. There are no words to express the significance of the loss of Daryl. His brightness shone like a beacon and it was a comfort to know that he was present in this world even when you weren't directly in his light.

The greatest gift our loved ones can leave are the thousands of beautiful and loving memories of times shared together. Daryll not only enjoyed life but excelled at being a wonderful person. Our memories of being with Daryll and sharing stories with him at Air Canada when we were younger remain a positive thing in our lives. There are so many wonderful things we can say about him, but the one thing that will always stood out in our thoughts is the love, and dedication he had for his family and friends. Take comfort in knowing that he touched many of us over the years, from his time at Brookwood...even though he was yelling at me as I was refereeing his games...he always had kind words to say afterwards & looked forward to our next games...to our pick-up volleyball games on Monday nights...he was a very special man & influenced many of us for life.

Judy, Carolyn, Jenn, Sandy, Daryll was one of the first people I met at Brookwood and indeed he was one of the kindest spirits I have ever met. It saddens me to hear of his passing and it is everyone who knew him , their loss.
