Dave was born on April 28, 1944 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and passed away on May 25, 2023. He was the second of nine children born to the union of Dave Hatton Jr. and Alice (Canada) Hatton. He is a graduate of University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff where he met his bride of 58 years, Annette Cunningham.

In 1966, their first child, Kim, was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Dave accepted a laboratory technologist position at Globe Union in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where they resided for twelve years. He then graduated from the University of Madison Wisconsin as a Registered and Certified Medical Technologist and served at Trinity Memorial Hospital to Laboratory Manager at Milwaukee's West Side Hospital. Dave accepted a position as Sales Rep. for Hoffmann La Roche Diagnostics and was contiguously promoted over the next 22 years, ultimately retiring as Vice President of Roche's parent company.
Two years after moving to Richardson, Texas, their second daughter, Erin was born in 1980. There, he and his family joined Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

Dave consistently earned a phenomenal number of corporate presidential awards, acknowledgements and promotions, leading to relocation to Mahwah, New Jersey. Post retirement, Dave became an owner/operator of four McDonald's stores in Brooklyn, New York, where he regularly supported the Ronald McDonald House Charities as well as the African American Future Achievers Scholarship Program. He received the Newark YMCA Community Service Award for his leadership, and the Community Support Award from U.S. Congressman Edolphus Towns and was honored by the NAACP Bergan County (NJ Branch) with the Excellence in Business Award.

At New Hope Baptist Church of Hackensack, NJ, Dave served faithfully as a Deacon for nearly four decades. His infectious, tremendous laugh marked the joy of the Lord he carried. He was a teacher at heart and ever-learning. Dave Hatton III is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Hello David. You sure were the best as National Sales Manager of Roche Diagnostics Director. You helped everyone. The Saddlebrook Arizona national sales meets were the best. I had 3 stellar $$$ years thanks to you. Hey, remember the 10 gauge?
