Forever Friends written Sunday, June 10, 2018
Katie, This is late in coming and Im sorry.. I want you to know that we loved David as we love you and were so sad when he passed. As friends within our church, we were so blessed to be part of our group that we lovingly called the Sarasota Five. Being in Sunday School and Church, working in the office together, going to movies and out to dinner and all the trips we made that hold such treasured memories. We are all busy with our lives and growing older. Somehow, I never really believed we would go through all the stuff that seniors experience, but here we are -feeling blessed that we have those memories! I could very well say, So, where are the Golden years we were promised? But it is, of course, in those memories we all cherish and in the ability to pick up the phone to talk to each other, or write, or e mail, or whatever we can do to stay in touch. That is pure GOLD, my dear friend. We miss our David and we miss you as well. Ill be calling one of these days to do just that stay in touch. As I recall, when David died, his dear wife said, Please dont forget me. We havent, none of us. Just need to hear each others voices. Talk to you soon. I love you - Patricia
