With sadness beyond words, I would like to express heartfelt condolences to the Ahern Family for the loss of your beloved Dave. He was very special to us all. You are right Joe, everybody did like to be around Dave.

I remember Keane telling me the first week of school that he had met a friend "Dave Ahern" along with the rest of a group of classmates and baseball players that would remain close friends.

Every other Sunday when I was off, I enjoyed driving to Wellesley and meeting these guys for a short time.Sometimes they would just come out to the parking lot and take whatever goodies I might have brought. Sometimes they might join me for pizza. (Only got in the dorms a few times.Probably just as well.)

But from the first time I met Dave, I loved him. The twinkling blue eyes, the bright smile and his humble and endearing manner.

At the games, we would look for them all. Poppy loved to chat it up with them. And they were all good and kind.

We had a fun dinner in Boston after they graduated. Poppy, my sister and brother in law were along. We got a great picture that night that was so cheerful that I used it as a Christmas card. It has been framed along with several pictures of Dave and all in my home and my dad's.

Yes, Joe Ahern. You were right when you said everyone liked to be around your son.

Life will not be the same without him. You have so much to be proud of. Dave's life has touched us all.

Heartfelt condolences to Joe, Denise, Joseph, Catherine, Michael, Rachael and Mia. Respects and love to grandmothers Alice, Irene and beloved family.

Sincerely,

Jamie, Poppy and the Crossen Steiding Family.

I am sending you all love and praying for the moments when your distress and pain is calmed by Dave's loving spirit. I wish death didn't hurt so much, but the depth of the heartache equals the joy he brought to you.

My deepest condolences to the Ahern family, Dave's friends and teammates.
Dave was my ceramics student for 4 years at Bedford High School and it was an honor and a pleasure to be his teacher. Dave had a great blend of curiousity, creativity, skill and a bit of mischief. Full of ideas, he constantly challenged himself creating many ceramic pieces, including a fountain, portrait busts and a pair of hockey skates that won an Honorable Mention in the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Show( I think they deserved a Gold Key). Dave and his BHS hockey/ baseball buddies were in class together and proved that you could be both an athlete and an artist. I was the " teacher", but my life was certainly enriched by having your David as my student. I will always remember Dave and the beautiful work he created Love, Aleta Devaney

As a lifelong friend of the Morgan family I was introduced to David on my trips to New England and again when he visited Mia's grandparents in my hometown.
As recently as July we talked and again, I was struck by the presence of a wonderful young man, a gentleman who was respectful, polite, astute, and FUN. These personal attributes are not only a reflection of David but also of what a remarkable family he must have.
In this time of great loss and sorrow I hope and trust his family takes a moment to reflect on both their and David's accomplishments in this all too short journey. He's left an indelible impression in such a short time.
With sympathy, Mark House. Potsdam, NY
