My History Professor fo Colonial American History from Earliest Times to King Phillips War. Outstanding man and taught with enthusiasm and emotional ferocity for his love of all things American and historical. A real privilege to learn from him and to be inspired. He was a wonderful instructor at UWM. My favorite.

Dear Grace, I just learned about Dave's passing and wanted to send my condolences. Both you and your husband were so kind when I was growing up at Covenant CRC. I will always remember you teaching me "My God is so Big" in Sunday School. I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Marian, I'm the only one at Frankenmuth Historical that you would remember, but we want to offer our sympathy for the loss of your father. He was a very wonderful man.

Dear Grace and family,
I learned this morning from Dave Miller, former Site Director at Bushy Run Battlefield, about David's death. I am deeply sorry, and wish to express my sincere sympathies and those of all of us involved with the Braddock Road Preservation Association at Jumonville. To many of us, Dave was a pioneer in the field of French and Indian War studies, and it is hard to imagine the field without him. It was such a joy meeting you and Dave at Jumonville in 2006, and I am even sorrier that I had been out of touch more recently.
I know you rest assured that David is in Heaven with his Lord, but I can also imagine that he is having some great conversations with the many soldiers and garrison commanders at Fort Mackinaw and Michilimackinac!

Grace and family,
Dave was a man who showed tremendous kindness to my family in our greatest hour of need. He was a man who showed the face of Jesus to so many. We were so blessed to know him.
