I met Dave 30 years ago when he was manager at Murphy's in Pittsburgh. I was a young man of 25 when I was sent to that store to manage the restaurant department. Dave was already preparing for his new assignment for Murphy's as a district manager, and would only be at the Pittsburgh store for a couple of weeks. In that short time that we spent together, he made a lasting impression on me first of all by his very warm welcome and offer of assistance in getting comfortable in the second largest of Murphy's restaurants, and by his offer of any help I may need after he went on to the district. I have often thought of him over these past 30 years and wonder what it would have been like to work with him over a long period of time. I am sorry for your loss, but I want you to know that I will continue to remember him as a warm friend even though our working relationship lasted for a few weeks. Dave was a true gentleman in the strictest sense of the word

I would like to express my sympathy to the entire family. I knew Dave (and Esther) from church and I enjoyed knowing them both. Very sweet people.

Just a friend of Dave's who lived out the back of Dave. He was a true gentleman and offered help when my wife passed away.
