David Graham Ball, Jr. born on February 5th 1940 passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 17th, at 83. He is preceded in death by his parents David Graham Ball, Sr. and Sally Phillips Ball.

A Raleigh native, he attended the Murphey School, Hugh Morson & Broughton High School. As a member of the Boy Scouts of America, he was awarded with their highest achievement, the rank of Eagle Scout. He also traveled to Cuba while in the Boys Scouts.

He began a career in Manufacturing & Purchasing after graduating from North Carolina State University. He worked at Aeroglide, Athey Products, Peden Steel and then for the NC Department of Administration as a Purchaser until his retirement.

David was an avid hunter and proud to have been honored as Lifetime Member of the Sir Walter Raleigh Gun Club. He loved western movies and horses, especially his Arabians and assisted various committees for a regional Arabian Horse Club. He held memberships in both the Siberian Husky Club of America and the Central North Carolina Siberian Husky Club, where he served as Club Treasurer.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Lynda Pulliam Ball, daughter Pat Vandawalker (Larry) son Dave Ball (Donna) and grandson Dakota Vandawalker. He leaves behind sisters-in-law Cindy & Elaine, brothers-in-law Jim & Lawrence, extended family, friends & neighbors.

Visitation on Monday January 22nd from 12-1:30, Apex Funeral Home 550 W. Williams St. Graveside Service at 2, Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be sent to St. Jude's Children Hospital & The National Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave. 5th Floor, Norwalk, Ct. 06851
