David C. "Bags" Baxter

Dear Deb,
I was just with some of our classmates from Blake the other day and we spoke of Bags. He is dearly missed and very beloved to many. We had so much fun, whether at school, skiing, or hiking the Bighorns. Thinking of you and the rest of the family. Love, Laurie

I stumbled on this memorial while checking up on what old friends are up to. I'm saddened to hear that Dave has passed on. I worked with him at Harvest States Country Hedging in the early '80s and was at your wedding. I liked him very much, and I admired the disciplined way he approached his work. My thoughts are with you.

Deb & Family, I was shocked to hear the news of David's passing. He was a great guy to work with at CH and made the day a lot more bearable for all of us. Not sure you could find a more uplifting person than Dave and now we have the oppurtunity to have him watching out for all of us until we meet again. Thoughts & prayers.

Deb and the Baxter Family -- Allyson and I were saddened at this news -- Dave and I went, way back, to Blake -- to the Grain Exchange where we both worked on the floors -- to the neighborhood where we have lived with you for 22 years -- I partially identified the neighborhood because of discussions with Dave -- a trundly, gregarious, cheery bear has left the world .... I'll always remember Dave Baxter as my neighbor; and as the man who started my love for winter sports and all things skiing and snowboarding. When I was young living across the street from the Baxter's I'd see Emily and Ben on a daily basis and one winter I got the opportunity to go on a ski trip with their family to Giants Ridge. I'd never skied before and Dave spent the majority of the day teaching me how to ski. Thanks to him and his patience I learned to ski and gained a lifelong love of winter sports. If it wasn't for you I'd still be on the bunny hill.

We were so sad to hear of Bags sudden passing. We knew him from Skijammers and Sports Hut and will miss his jovial, happy attitude there. We pray that shared memories will comfort you. God Bless you all.

I first met Dave on the Trading Floor of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange, when my good friend Ed Snelgrove introduced me. We played golf several times. I was very sad to hear of Dave's passing. My deepest sympathy to the entire Baxter Family.

I am saddened to hear of Dave's passing. I do not know you but have known Dave since growing up with him in the Margaret Circle/ Ridgeview Drive area of Wayzata and while at Blake. Since then, I'd talk with him a few times a year when stopping at the Hut and our conversations would always turn to you, the most important aspect of his life. The one thing that I will always remember most about Bags was his ability to make people laugh and smile. He was a gentle man and will be missed.
