David Samuel Bennett Sr

David Samuel Bennett, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 91. He was born on Wednesday, December 3, 1924, in California, Maryland to the late Virla Carr Bennett and Edward Bennett, and was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII and Korea and was a member of the Ironworkers Union Local 58. David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Lounette "Lou" Sanders Bennett; his parents, Virla and Edward Bennett; two brothers, Homer Bennett and Ralph Bennett; and two sisters, Florence Pate and Iva Johns. He is survived by his daughter, Susan B. Chustz (Darrell); son, David S. Bennett, Jr. (Sherrie); sister, Ramona Crapse; four grandchildren, Luke Chustz, Amanda Misenhelter (Zach), Justin Bennett (Keisha), and Lindsey Bennett; and two great-grandchildren, Ava Misenhelter and Rhyan Bennett. Also survived by many special family members and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin on Saturday morning at 10:00 am and will continue until the service time of 1:00 pm.
