May 3, 2022, of Buffalo, NY. A courageous and talented young man who could not touch your life without changing it, David bravely battled testicular cancer for six years. He became a beacon of hope for other cancer patients and their families during his time at Roswell Park, as both an employee and a patient. David graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Buffalo State College before joining Roswell as a wellness ambassador and later a central access associate. Also an accomplished photographer, he inspired so many with his passion for life and appreciation for the beauty of the world around him. With his passing, his family believes he has now gained a new perspective with which he can further his love for capturing beauty. David is survived by his loving parents, David and Eileen Berndt; sister Rachel (Ryan) Orie; nephew and godson, Max Orie; grandmother, Darlene DePasquale; aunts, Patricia Russo and Lisa DePasquale; uncle, David; cousin, Carley DePasquale; best friend and confidant, Adrianne DiBrog; beloved cat, Diggs; family dog, Jacob; and countless other friends that became family.
