David Alan Bodee, 70, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on December 5, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on April 20, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois.

David attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School, where he was an active member of the basketball team. He later studied Business at Western Illinois University and went on to build a successful career in business finance.

An avid sailor, David had a deep love for the outdoors and embraced adventure in all aspects of life. His sharp wit and sense of humor endeared him to many, and he had a special gift for forming lasting friendships wherever he went.

David is survived by his life partner, Lauri Gillette; his brothers, Rick (Sheila) and Bob (Terri); and his nieces and nephews, Brad, Colleen, Rich, Bridget, and Kevin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen M. Bodee and Louis F. Bodee.

In accordance with his wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date at his home in Panama City, Florida.

David's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

We were in jr. high and H.F. together. We met later on in life with a shared passion for sailing. Between us we always had a sailboat handy. We had adventures and some misadventures. LOL I will miss his occasional calls. Don Grasse
