David Todd Butler, 45, of Longview passed away at his home, Friday, August 14, 2009, after a short battle with melanoma.
Todd was born April 18, 1964, in Longview, to Gerald and Joyce Nettles Butler. He was a 1982 graduate of Pine Tree High School. He attended Kilgore College and graduated from the International Aviation and Travel Academy in Dallas. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had worked in the rental car industry. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Longview.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Butler; and his grandparents, Herman and Omah Butler, Edward Nettles and James Rainey.
Todd is survived by his parents, Jerry and Becky Butler of Longview; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg Butler of Longview, Stephen Butler and Kristen Adkins and Scott and Adrienne Butler of Austin Texas; his sister, Elizabeth Butler of Carrollton, Texas; his grandmothers, Elizabeth Nettles of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and Audrey Rainey of Longview; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
At Todd's request, there will be no formal services.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Beacon Hospice of Longview.
