My deepest condolences are offered to all survivors. I'm just now seeing this news. As a fellow professional, illustrator and portrait artist, I was a neighbor from the Park Slope community, during the time David taught illustration at Pratt. Through his influence, being familiar with my work, Pratt Institute hired me as an outside adjunct teacher, teaching classes in my studio. This was through the Integrative Studies Program, with Judy Naylon. Truly a gifted artist! I was thankful that David was one of the great ones, who provided opportunities for emerging artists. May he rest in eternal art.
