David Cruz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 12, 2025.
David Cruz, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, left us too soon on April 3, 2025 at the age of 67. Born on November 28, 1957, in Los Angeles CA. David spent his final years in Fort Lupton, where he continued to touch the lives of those around him.

He is the son of David Cruz Jr. and Sylvia Griego (Macias) and the brother to 2 siblings. David Cruz III is preceded in death by his father David Cruz Jr.

David grew up in Northglenn, Colorado where he graduated from Northglenn High School.

David is survived by his son David Cruz IV (Jessica), mother Sylvia (Jesse) Macias his two sisters, Margaret (Charles) Stover of Fort Lupton, CO and Barbara Chavez of Henderson, CO; as well as numerous nieces Rosemarie Shearston, Gina LaGuardia, Angela Barboza, Andrea Chavez, Alysse Medina, and Alexandra Chavez in addition to several cousins and grand nieces/nephews.

Professionally, David dedicated many years with Climax Molybdenum CO Henderson Mill, where he excelled in mining operations before becoming a safety director. In 1998, he was a industry speaker who shared his company's innovative behavior-based safety initiatives.

David was a man of many passions, most notably his love for stock car races, and auto mechanics. Whether it was the thrill of the race or the satisfaction of a well-tuned engine, David found joy and excitement in the roar of the track. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, sport car races. He had a talent for golf cart repair, which he turned into a small business in Chowchilla CA, aptly named "Cruzin' Mobile Golf Cart Repair".

In 2020, during COVID challenging times he organized the first "Cruzin' Carts Christmas Parade" bringing cheer and a sense of community to the Green Hills golf neighborhood. This heartwarming tradition continues every Christmas, a testament to his enduring spirit.

David was the kind of guy who'd offer a helping hand to neighbors and friends, often with a joke or two in tow. His infectious laugh could light up a room and his care for others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
