To the DeFelippo Family,
I had the pleasure of working with Dave as a Crossing Guard a year or two back. He was always so friendly and was a pleasure to work with. Hearing of his passing was saddening. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

To the entire DeFilippo family,

I am very sorry to hear of your great loss. Dave was a wonderful man, and a fantastic crossing guard. He cared so much for the safety of every child he came in contact with every day. He would always have a story to tell whenever he would come to the police station. I very much enjoyed seeing his smiling face at his corner, and I knew that the children would be safe in his hands. Dave will truly be missed by the entire Police Department. You will all be in our thoughts, thank you for sharing Dave with us.

I am so sorry to hear about Dave. What a great man. He was always so cheerful and friendly. Him and Brandy would come across the street to chat. He'd keep me from my garden or whatever, but usually I liked the break and an excuse to not work! I will keep you all in my prayers. Hold the memories close in your hearts.

I was so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I had come to know him over the past two years of volunteering at the Des Plaines Self Help Closet and Pantry. You could always count on Dave to help with anything at the Pantry. His generosity of spirit was unlimited. He could always be counted on for some light-hearted emails and some really awful jokes to break up the afternoon. You could tell from his conversations that he was totally devoted to his family. I know Dave's spirit will continue to watch over his family, Jessica, in particular, as she travels and goes off to college. He was very proud of her and the fact that she made time to volunteer at the Pantry, too. Dave will truly be missed.
