I first connected with Dave when our boys were Cub Scouts, about to become Boy Scouts. He took over the scoutmaster position at troop six and became an excellent leader, making scouting a fun and positive experience with memories that the boys will cherish for a lifetime. The high point of many camping trips was a five day canoe trip in northern Maine.
It was that camping trip that inspired Dave and I to build our own cedar strip canoes, made possible by Dave´s skill as a draftsman.
Over the next few years we canoed the rivers and lakes of the Allagash with scouts, friends and family many times. Dave always made the trips an enjoyable experience.
Dave was knowledgeable but never pretentious. Positive, never negative. To me, and to many, he was true friend. I will miss him dearly but always cherish the many good times we had together.

Candy and all of Dave´s family. We just found out that Dave had passed away. We are so sorry to hear that. He was such a nice man and very knowledgeable man. Always ready to volunteer to help someone . We enjoyed getting to know him and speaking to him every time we saw him when we lived at Northridge. Please accept our deepest sympathies. Dave was a neighbor and friend, also a great skier. Never a bad word ever came out of his mouth. We sailed together on sluice pond in Lynn in my 8" homemade wooden sailboat. We were members of the Lynn Snowchasers ski club. We started skiing together at, what was at that time the Happy Valley golf course (tenth hole) on a poe tow. We skied together as adults at Mount Whittier in Ossipee, NH, and even in Canada. I always fashioned my skiing style after his. I met him a few years ago while he was working at the Bradford ski area as a ambassador. He was with his granddaughter. I remember saying to her "he was a great skier". She responded by saying "HE IS STILL A GREAT SKIER"
