Annie, as I've known you over the years, when I was a friend of Bert's.
When I read in the Citizen about the death of David, I couldn't believe it.
I've been meanig to keep in touch with the family, but as you know we all go our own ways. I remember David when I woulld visit your home and he would want to play. He was about 3 or 4 yrs old.
Accept my deepest sympathy to and your family.
At the same time I've wanted to keep in touch with Greg whom I was his godmother with Bert.

I was so sorry to hear of David's passing. I try to keep in mind all of the fun that we had growing up together. Remember the time that David and I had made 5-minute fudge and it didn't turn out so we went and thrown it in the ditch hoping that nobody would notice! Also the time when I was about 10 years old and David, Jo-anne and Debbie wanted to see me even though I had the chicken pox and they all went back home and within a couple of days they had caught them from me. They didn't care, they just wanted to come and see me. I will keep these memories in the back of my mind and just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Words cannot express my hurt! I'm in shock. My deepest regrets are sent to you and your family. The reality of death comes close when its someone you know and love. I turned 40 last year and I have survived cancer but when it takes someone so young you think about how important your friends and aquaintances are! I sat staring at my computer today, trying to choose just the right words to help ease your pain and express our regret. After quite some time, I realized that there just aren’t any words suitable. I took that time to remember Dave, the wonderful soft spoken gentlemen that he was, right from a young age, growing up together in Metcalfe. Dave’s passing has touched both Dave and I very deeply, many days we feel our aches and tell our kids that we are getting old, but our first thought at hearing of Dave’s death was that it can’t be true, he is far too young. Dave was a true champ and will be missed dearly by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Your family is not a stranger to grief, you have experienced far too much in a very short time. Lean on each other and your friends, to help you through the sadness, and lead you to a brighter day when you can fondly remember your brother and the brave man that he was.
Now, he shall feel no pain.
