My sincerest sympathy to Radar's family. I can still see him with an apron that extended well below his knees, up to his elbows in pots and pans, in the kitchen at Artaban. He was beloved by everyone at Artaban. God must have great plans for him in heaven!

My heart goes out to the family, friends, and parishioners of St. Paul's By the Sea in Ocean City, MD. I never had the opportunity to meet Father David, but had the pleasure of being in your fellowship hall when The Church of the Holy Comforter from DC would come to the beach every year for the bus trip to Ocean City. Several families would look forward to getting together every year to make the trip to your lovely, historical building.

We remain prayerful that God will sustain you during these difficult days and that you will find comfort in the happy memories that your beloved husband, father, pastor, brother, and friend helped create for you during his lifetime here. We also pray that you will find comfort in knowing that you will see him again in heaven. What a day of rejoicing that will be; when we ALL see Jesus, we'll sing and shout the victory.

God bless you.

The lay and clergy members of the congregations of the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes join with you in sorrow at the tragedy at St. Paul's. We offer a week of prayer for David, Brenda and their family, for the congregation and Diocese, as well as for the community they serve. We pray that in the face of shock and sorrow our Lord will shepherd you and comfort you. In the face of confusion and fear, we pray that love triumphs. In the place of loss we pray faith will be strengthened. Your sisters and brothers in Christ offer encouragement and we join you in hope.

Hello Brenda, Alex, Nick and Ian,

Let me begin by reacquainting myself with you, when you lived in Cranbrook, B.C. I was Alex's Grade 4 teacher at St. Mary's Catholic School, Miss Bay. At the end of that school year, Brenda and Alex, you gave me an angel with a card of thanks - I have the angel and card still. The angel sits on a bookcase in my home office, the card is kept with others from parents/students over my years of teaching. As you suggested in your card, each time I look at the angel I remember a little boy whose life I had an impact upon.
In a recent copy of our local paper I learned of the tragic event which took the life of David, husband and father. Immediately I thought of your time spent in Cranbrook and that particular school year I shared with Alex, and I retrieved the card you gave me from the trunk where it is kept.
I want to express my deepest sympathy to each of you and reiterate a sentiment you bestowed on me in your card with the gift of the angel. May you find comfort knowing David was “blessed with the ability to transform lives.” When times are particularly tough may you find solace in memories of David who with God's grace touched so many lives.
Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

Sincerely,

Colleen Maletta (nee Bay)

We extend our deepest sympathy to the Dingwall family and all of the members of St. Paul's. We attended St. Paul's whenever we were in Ocean City and considered it our church home away from home. We were truly inspired by Fr. Dingwall's preaching and ministry. May God grant you strength and peace in the days to come.

Fr. David was a wonderful man who lit up the community with his smiles and welcoming, warm manner. His sermons and "coffee hour" anecdotes were the highlight of so many of us. Our deepest sympathies to his family. He will be sorely missed!
