Susan, Patty Swartz told me your news. My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope that you can spend time remembering wonderful times with your husband throughout your life together and that those memories will be a comfort. My father recently died with Alzheimer's and I understand the long goodby. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that he is released from the prison of Alzheimer's.

My memories of David stretch back to college when we occasionally played the piano together. I admired him then and continued to do so throughout the years.
David was a true Renaissance man. His interests, intellectual curiosity, and creativity were boundless as were his accomplishments. His was truly a life well-lived.
To you, Susan, and your family I extend my thoughts and my sympathy upon the passing of this most gentle, loving, and wonderful man.

My thoughts are with you, Susan, and with your family. I hope David will now watch over you just as you watched over him so lovingly for so long.

Dear Susan, Charlie, Adam, and Rachel,
I am so saddened to hear about Dave's passing. Continuing to deal with my Mother's Alzheimer's disease - I really understand your reference to the "long goodbye". I know it has been a long and difficult road for Dave and for you as caregivers. Dave was in my study group in law school. He was incredibly kind and sharing. I also know from those times how proud he was of all of you. He enjoyed talking about Susan's career as a teacher and certainly the lives of Charlie, Adam, and Rachel. May you take comfort in remembering all the good times before Dave was so very sick.
