Hi David
Your father and my uncle, Bart Gandy, were friends. They were both native of Saint John and both blind. They stayed in touch over many years. Please accept our sympathy over the passing of your father. If my memory serves, there was an interesting article in the Ciizen several years ago about your father crossing Bronson Ave at Fifth and the challenges it presented for a blind man. It never stopped him!
Signed,
Eileen Mersereau (sister of Mr. Gandy)

HI David
This is Gordon MacIsaac. I had your Dad out to speak at our local Stittsville Lions Club to describe his experiences with his seeing eye dog. He told wonderful amusing stories about his dog and the adventures they shared. I still remember his words and often repeat them when the subject of seeing eye dogs is raised. Your Dad was an intelligent insightful man with an open and generous view of the world .One wonders whether his lack of sight was more gift than hindrance

Hi Dave: From what I knew of your Dad, this is a very nice tribute to him. He would be proud of the way you've handled this - it's not an easy thing to do. I'm sure you'll miss him terribly but try and think back on the good times that you shared and not to dwell on the sadness. It can be overwhelming at times I'm sure.
Take care of yourself.

My name is Daniel MacIsaac. I was a student of Dr foohey's during the summer of 1970 and 1971 and 1972. He had a powerfull intellect and memory and a kind and generous heart. He had a stiff upper lip. He in sent me to see a man by the name of Barna Delackie who had met face to face with Hitler. He was the son of the wartime Prime Minister of Hungary. He was a great fan of Robert Stanfield and Elmer MacKay. He was a great fan of Dalhousie. He spent his honeymoon at my parent's place in Antigonish Nova Scotia. He was a friend of my brother Gordon who lives in Ottawa. I will never forget him.
