Like to give my sincere thank you and appreciation to Mr. David H. Fowler. When he worked for the Hartford Courant newspaper he wrote a 7 segment piece on my father Sgt. Wendell Treffery on his time as a prisoner of war during the Korean War. This was back in 1953, and soon after Sgt. Treffery release from being a POW. It was called "I was a Red Prisoner" and gave a first hand account of my father experiences. This 7 segment article is now part of Archives in the Library of Congress. My sympathy to his family and to a lost of a greater writer. Thank you.

Please accept my sincere sympathy at the death of your beloved father. I knew him and Lois and often visited their home and pool. They were both perfect hosts and wonderful friends: witty, generous, kind, and professionally helpful to me. I shall certainly keep them in both prayer and memory. Again, I am sorry for your great loss. He was such a gentleman.

Looking at all of David's accomplishments in life is very impressive but the most impressive part of all was his incredible kindness, patience and just being the nicest guy we ever knew.
