David Gaudreau Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 6, 2025.
David E. Gaudreau, age 64, of Whitman, died peacefully after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer and throat cancer, Monday, September 1, 2025. He passed away, surrounded by his loving family at Boston Medical Center Brighton.

Dave was born in Quincy, raised and educated in Whitman. He attended Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton for 3 years and was a graduate of Whitman Hanson High School, class of 1979. He lived in Whitman for most of his life.

He worked as a Delivery Specialist/Local Driver for Frito-Lay and was a member of the Teamsters Local 653 for over 30 years.

Dave enjoyed sports, especially hockey and played street hockey and Little League baseball in his youth. He was an ultimate Boston sports fan, a former NE Patriots season ticket holder and avid Boston Bruins fan, attending games frequently.

He had many passions, starting with music. He loved many genres but was a true heavy metal guy. In his younger years Dave worked with many bands as a roadie. He also loved cars, built car models as a kid and later as an adult, owned two beautiful Mustangs, which he raced.

In recent years, Dave became an excellent backyard barbeque chef, mastering the grill and smoker. He followed the BBQ competitions and attended workshops as well.

His quick wit, love of a funny story and the company of his numerous friends meant everything to him, as well as his love of family.

A dedicated caregiver to his late mom during recent years gave his family the gift of keeping her at home all but the last months of her life.

Beloved son the late Barbara J. (Comeau) Gaudreau and Ernest E. Gaudreau.

Loving brother of Gloria J. Huntington of Amesbury and her late husband Duane, and sister Susan B. Melvin and her husband Brendan of Newburyport.

Loving Uncle of Christian A. Dunbar and Liam B. Melvin.

Loving Great Uncle of Roan and Fionn Dunbar.

David is also survived by Aunts, cousins and many friends.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held at Tommy Doyle's Pub & Grill, 235 East Ashland Street, Brockton, on Sunday, September 21, from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Dave, such a great friend for so many years. Since 1982 we've known each other, became great friends, and even roommates! Through the years we Rocked out, tailgated, went to shows and partied. And we sure did raise a lotta hell out there! We knew each other's families and hung out for birthdays, pool parties, etc. You were a good guy to everyone you knew, you'll never be forgotten. I'm sure we'll meet again when this is all over! Until then we will all miss you and your cunning wit...
With Much Love, Randy

Dave, although I did not know you personally, I know you gave a lot of heart and soul to Frito-Lay for 31 years and had many members who adored you. You had a great work ethic and had many customers who enjoyed seeing you. We at Frito-Lay are truly saddened to hear this news and are sending many thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
