David Getzendanner

I knew Pastor, as I always called him, as the father of my best friend since 1963 and as the pastor who brought me into the Lutheran church as a teenager at Trinity Lutheran in Everett, Washington, and baptized me at age 16. By starting a folk music group at Trinity, Pastor brought many teens to the church who, like me, didn´t have parents who attended church but were drawn in by the chance to play guitar and stayed because of the welcoming community. He was always kind, gentle, and loving: to his congregants of all ages, and to his family, especially as he cared for Betty in her later years of needing more physical assistance than he did. He was truly an inspiration to me.
