Col. David Gold

Col. David Gold, USAF Ret., age 93, of San Antonio, died August 29, 2003. Col. Gold received his BA degree from Union College in 1931 and his M.D. from Cornell Medical College in 1935. He entered Regular Army Service in 1940 and served as Division Surgeon of the 101st Airborne Division during the Normandy Invasion. After retiring from the Air Force, Col. Gold was Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX from 1963 to 1971. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Miriam Gold. Col. Gold is survived by his daughters, Ruth E. Gold-Stewart and husband James C. Stewart of San Antonio, TX, and Margaret P. Gold of Galveston, TX; son, Ronald E. Gold and wife Mabel Gambarelli of Houston, TX; grandson David L. Gold, and Â"adopted grandchildrenÂ" Lindsay and Liam Kutac.
