MARTINEZ, CA - David Keith Gregory, 73, lovingly known as Dave, passed away on February 20, 2024. He was born on December 14, 1950, in Pasadena, California to the amazing Dr. Jack A. Gregory and Gloria "Anne" Gregory.

Dave proudly served in the Army for 2 years. After his military service, he pursued a career as an engineer at PG&E. He loved his work with PG&E and had only just retired.

In his spare time he enjoyed officiating sports such as basketball, football, Volleyball, and softball. He was also active in the CCBOA, CBOA, and MCON. His passion for sports brought joy to many.

He is survived by his sister Kathy (Gregory) Silberman, son Justin Gregory, daughter Stephanie (Valdez) Seregin, son Jesse Valdez, seven grandchildren Madison Kaley Gottschall, Alexey David Seregin, Summer Anne Seregin, Mackenzie Maryjane Seregin, Hannah Elaine Valdez, Vincent Jesse Valdez, and Benjamin Murphy, and one great grandchild Rory Gottschall, nephew Adam Silberman and two great nephews Jaxon and Asher Silberman.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

This obituary has taken 1 year to complete because we have been truly devastated by the loss of the head of our family. Dad was the most amazing human being we have ever known. He loved his family more than anything.

His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. From chaperoning school field trips and driving to traveling soccer tournaments to just driving them to school everyday, he was always there, and even became known as the team grandpa to Summer's whole soccer team. His warmth and humor could be felt by everyone around him. Dad always taught us the value of education and personal responsibility.

While there would have never been "enough" time with dad, our hearts hurt for how quickly he passed away. We honor him everyday by living as the type of loving, responsible, but playful people he raised us to be.

Rest in peace, Dad. Our family will never be the same without you here.

My heart just hurts for the family! As much as Dave's PG&E family miss his presence, there could be no comparison to what each of you have loss. I remember one night at Concord RMC when I came in late to finish my report. I found a girl sitting at Dave´s computer, using it to explore the internet while Dave, her grandpa, had to come to the office to finish his work for PGE.
Later that evening, I had a chance to catch up with Dave and learned that the girl was his granddaughter. As we spoke, it was clear how much he loved his family and grandchildren. He was a kind-hearted person, and I had the privilege of working with him for nearly 10 years.
I miss you, Dave.
