To the Griffith family,

Words cannot adequately express my deepest condolences for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting David personally, but I have had the honor of knowing his son, Andy. It is without a doubt in my mind that David and Twila loved their family very much. The type of man Andy is speaks to the amazing parental figures in his life. If I may, I would like to take a second to let you know of the man that I know. Andy, at just a very young age, has done more, and achieved more than many twice his age. He has a passion in his eyes that is as clear as day and never backs down from his beliefs. He is a proven leader. The Lord said many are called, but few are chosen. I don't pretend to speak for the Lord, but it wouldn't surprise me to find that Andy has been chosen. The type of man Andy is speaks highly of his upbringing and the type of people within his family. I am very grateful to have known Andy as I have. Like I said, I didn't know David and I regret that. I wish I had the opportunity to have known. In a way, though, I do know him. Through his legacy, which is in each and every one of the Griffiths. It is my hope and prayer that y'all will get through this, stronger than you were before. I have a testimony of prayer and can assure you that through the power of prayer to the Lord you will get through this. I pray that He will comfort you and bring you peace, as He has done for so many before. May God bless you and your family during this difficult time.

Andy has a kind soul and is a joy to know, as I am certain his younger brother and sister are. I believe Mr. Griffith's teachings, expectations, love, and morals are a direct reflection on his precious children's character today. He can rest with pride on raising successful and happy children. May your happy memories find a smile when your heart is empty. Andy has many friends and professors who care. You, your dear Mom and your family are in my thoughts. I'm here to listen if you want to talk Andy.

Although I only had the opportunity to meet you, David, a few times, it was very apparent how much Andy admired you, and it shows in the way he presents himself and acts every day. He is an honorable son from an honorable father. Rest in Peace, knowing you raised a great family. My heart goes out to all of you, and all of you have been in my prayers every day.

Although I did not have the opportunity to know David Griffith, I consider his son, Andy, one of the greatest people I have ever come to know so far in my life. I am a man who believes you can judge a parent and a person by how well their children acts and behaves. Andy is an outstanding person who has been there for me when I needed him, and I have no doubt that his name will be in history books one day. Rest in Peace David, know that you left an amazing son behind to carry on the family name Griffith. My condolences go out to the rest of the Griffith family and David's wife especially for this loss.

Andy, as a representative of the Nacogdoches County Republican Party, let me express our sincere sorrow for the loss of your father, a loss that I cannot begin to identify with at this time in your life. This will not be easy to overcome but in time the pain will ease up. We want to thank you for all that you have done for the NCRP and we want you to know that your energy and enthusiasm have helped so much. Just be there for your mom and your sister because you are now the leading adult male figure in your family and I cannot think of a better one for them to have. We pray that God will bless you and your family with healing and encouragement to press forward as difficult as that might seem.
In His Name,
James Beene

Dear Twila, Addie Andy, and Alex,
I was a work friend of your Dad's and like everyone else was shocked and saddened by the passing of your amazing husband and Dad. We talked often- and as a rule Dave asked me for an update on my kids and then with a sparkle in his eye- told me everything about you guys and gal! I know you know this already- but- never have I met a Father who loved his wife and kids so much! My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Heaven just got that much more inviting for me!
