David Ray Hedrick

David Ray Hedrick, 70, of Valdese passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 unexpectedly. David was born on May 21, 1952 in Catawba County to the late Hansen Hedrick and Margaret Cooke Hedrick. He loved to fish and enjoyed staying home to watch television with his sidekick, Bobbit the Cat. He was a proud Navy veteran of six years. Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Judy Hughes; brother, Richard "Rick" Hedrick (Rita); children; Lisa Peile (Steven), Erica Oliphant (James), Keith Hedrick, and Joyce Hedrick; grandchildren; Dominic, Christina, Jenna, Jason, Jack, Jessie, and Joseph; nephews, Craig Collins, Jr., and Andrew Hughes; nieces, Hope Wenk (Scott) and Lauren Lorello (Waverly); and his special friend and companion, Anita Andrews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Warlick's Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the United States Navy and the Caldwell County Honor Guard.
