On Fri Feb 8th /13 , I had the sad honour of holding Dave's left hand as my Mom held his right in hers, and told him, he could leave us and move on from this life. With two more breaths we felt his release as he took leave of that poor frail body that could no longer support his wonderful vibrant spirit. Gentle , Peaceful, Quiet. It felt like taking off a very heavy coat, and the room lifted somehow. I love you Dave and I know you loved us back because we saw it in your everyday way. Thank you for being such a wonderful addition to our family, for loving my Mom and my Nana, being a great Papa to my kids and a great Dad to me and John.

Never forgotten as long as there are toothpicks, whistles, popcorn and hockey.

Will we miss you? "You wanna believe!"

PS we'll take good care of Mom for you xoxxo Love ME

It was a sad day when|I found out you passed, I will miss our long conversations about golf and hockey.

You were not only my father in-law, papa to my kids but also my friend. I will miss the crib games and all the wisdom you shared.

Dear Pat...sincere condolences to you and all the family on David's passing. It's hard to believe that both Hildrop brothers left us in less than a year.
I know so well what you're going through....hope you will find consolation in knowing that David has joined Peter and all the other loved ones that have gone on before. I like to think they are enjoying a golf game together on Heaven's perfect golf course. love Lorene

Thanks Dave for being in my life. You have always been a shining example to me of a loving, caring husband. You have defined by your actions what it is to be able to count on someone through thick and thin. Your selflessness and kindness to Nana all these years and your unwavering love for all the family will forever be remembered. I am glad for our time together and will always carry a part of you in my heart. Rest peacefully Davey.

Never met the man but he did raise a great daughter who's turned out to be one of the best mothers I know. It must say a lot

Pocket
Always to jest, always with love.
A smile is his quest, or the attention of.
Such a gentlemen, never a hic.
A tooth pick
Evenings a gabbing, of this he is able.
Or in the garage, refinishing a table.
No risks taken, always sensible.
A very small pencil
Our regards of him, never will fade.
Hard at work in the garden, or enjoying the shade.
Wherever he's lived, many friends he has made.
One rolaid
Reliable and true, you must understand.
Confidence he inspires, at the shake of a hand.
Surely he is, a he'll of a man.
A rubber band
All of these things you will find, in him and in his pocket
Though till today, I had not fully realized it.
There surely is someone, who knows him best.
Who adores all his kindness, and put up with the rest.
I don't think if I search, across this far land.
That I'd find another pocket, with a tooth pick, small pencil,
A rolaid and rubber band.

God love you David, as I always have. Watch over us

Dave was a loving man with a kind gentle smile. He had many interests in life, and conversations with him were always interesting - with an occasional tease, of course. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. His memory will live on in our hearts, Diane Lapierre

Many good times and good memories.
