Hi Marsha,
My name is Jim Gage and I served with David at HQ MTMCEA at MOTBY. We were in the Directorate of Personnel Property together. My wife and I, Maribeth, lived on the 3rd floor of Goldsboro Village.
I´m so sorry to hear of Dave´s passing. I was going through some very old boxes and found some memos from my MTMCEA days in which David and I were copied on the documents. So I Googled David and came up with the sad news.
I got out of the Army in 77 and then got recalled in 83 and left for good in 91. I then worked for a defense contractor until retiring 3 years ago.
I lost Maribeth to cancer in 2005. Our son is going to retire from Ft Lewis (now JBLM, my last duty station) next year. I remarried in 2011...and my wife just welcomed her first great grandchild in January.
I hope you´re doing well under the circumstances and I´m so sorry about Dave´s passing.
Sincerely,
Jim Gage

Marsha, just read the sad news of David's death and I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am to hear it. No expression of sympathy--no matter how deeply felt --can help much right now, but I had to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and family.

David, I know that you are with our Heavenly Father and looking down and watching over your loved ones. You were a man that wore the greatest boots, always had your western hat on and a big heart. We would talk about saddles, leather and horses and aircraft. Fly among the clouds, my friend. You will be missed but remembered by many. Hugs and prayers for all of Davids family.

Marsha, Kristen, and Nick. After over 30 years of friendship what is there to say? David was such a upstanding and great guy. Beneath that quiet exterior was a man with so much integrity and kindness. I always felt so "safe" when David was around. I am just so sorry. Many hugs.

David was one of the finest people I have ever knew/worked with. Extremely kind and just a great person to be around. I used to see David and Marsha at the commissary. He will be missed. My prayers are with the family.

Nick, Sorry to hear about this. Ironically I think I still have a key chain somewhere with a customized strip of leather on it from when your Dad visited our first grade class years ago. Prayers for you and your family.
