I have been practicing law in Montreal for 40 years. I was just thinking about it and I said to myself 'one of the guys who I so enjoyed and appreciated is David Ironside. I Googled him and was so very sad to see that he passed away.

I was very saddened to hear such news. My sincere condoleances from myself, including my entire family. David and Leon gave me my first job in the legal field and I worked with them for about 5 years. I will miss his caring soul and his great jokes greatly. He had a way of making all people around him laugh no matter what. An incredible man, to say the least.

Just heard the sad news. He always made us laugh. What a rare gift. Sympathy to his family and Carole. God bless.

What can I say ...other than Dave was a special person... I will miss talking to him about my Dad... I always appreciated how straight forward he was. He said things like they were. He will be greatly missed...

My most sincere condolences to the family.
I first met David in 1983 when we both sat on the Board of the Montreal Advocate's Benevolent Society and appreciated his particular humour and sense of fairness. We later crossed paths: he, as the lawyer for the IAMAW's section 1751 and I, on the other side, as counsel for Air Canada. Although our positions were different and some of our battles fiercely fought, I continued to enjoy his humour, sense of fairness and fair play and admired his true devotion to his clients.
He will be missed.

David Ironside was a great friend and supporter of my brother Andre. Andre will truly miss him. I never met Mr. Ironside in person but spoke to him over the phone on my brother's behalf. His character filled my room over the phone! My sympathies and deepest condolences to his family and friends.

For years our paths crossed by chance: high school football, Dalhousie, Sun Life, and then McGill. Later, we had to actually work on keeping in touch. I'll miss you, Dave.
