David A. Janes

I just discovered this obituary of Admiral James. So sorry to know of his passing. I was David and Stephen's secretary at California Manufacturing Enterprises. I am now 87 and have been retired since 2000. I was so intrigued reading this lengthy obituary of David's life. I never knew how much life he squeezed into his 81 years! Amazing! But then, David WAS amazing! A hard nut to crack, but amazing nonetheless! I wonder if Father God has figured him out? Bless his soul, he was a very special boss! Thanks for the memories, David!

Skipper I already posted a note when your crossed the bar, but I'm back to tell you, I can find nothing about your passing that warms my heart, but I am really glad that you have not had to bear witness to what these people have done to our Navy. Smooth sailing Admiral.

Our paths crossed only briefly near the end of your journey. However, you touched my heart with your kindness and humility. I know that you are at peace with the Lord and yourself. Thank you for being such a good example of a Christian man.

Donna and Family, just learned of Dave's passing and my heart grieves for you. I think of you often as I reminisce my life in NewPort Beach fondly. My friend Joe and I were just talking about you guys and remembering all the great times we had during those years. Dave was truly one of the smartest and kindness souls I've ever known. I am sorry that David passed away. Time ran out for him. The span of our life is 70 years or 80 if we are especially strong. Psalm 90:10

Admiral Janes - you were a joy to work for. The consumate Naval Officer, a great mentor, consistent, concerned and supremely interested in your troops. Getting to work for you at CincPacFlt, was great, but to be able to top that off with another job at RC 19 was just frosting on the cake. Thanks for being such a good boss and colleague.
