In memory of
A dear friend
November 12, 2009
Dear David,
I know you are resting at peace in Heaven with redbirds and puffy clouds. You are with your MOM and Dad with open arms and that great big smile. Your dad is so proud of you taking care of his car. We know that you are looking down at us looking up at you with a tear in our eyes but a smile in our face -that you are without pain and suffering and that you are being looked after by your mom and dad-and that you will touch us in heaven as you did on Earth. We will take care of Hannah. that's what friends do- I loved you David and God bless your family.

Hannah and Family-
We are so saddened at the loss of David and our hearts go out to all of you. He loved his family so much and Hannah, you were the center of his life and his love for you was endless. He lived life to the fullest and touched so many lives leaving a legacy of faith, love, kindness and hope to all that met him.
Please know that we love you and that our hearts break in this difficult time right beside you. He will be missed and we will look for his smile from heaven in all that we do....

What a smile David always had on his face and when those eyes looked at you , you knew you had his attention only. We had a lot of fun in his sister Carloyn's and Doug's driveway-
laughing, joking, and just being together was fun fun fun.
See you later David. Hugs to the family.

I will share in your celebration of life tomorrow as you enter heaven and know that many people loved you and admired your wisdom and witt. You always desired to make people you touched, feel happy and rejoice in life. You preached that life in Heaven was to be looked foward to and that we should not look back-except to remember and treasure the past-in that the people you loved and life be continued in heaven. Life is like a beatiful rose -it's beauty last forever as a memmory of sharing and giving-and David was a very giving person- God bless and please make everyday a Rose for Hannah-to treasure and remember the beauty of having David as a loving daddy- he loved her more than words-

Terri, Hannah, Carolyn, Doug and the entire Kragh Family,
I would like to extend deep heartfelt sorrow at this very difficult. May the knowledge of David being in heaven, with Mr. & Mrs. Kragh and Charlotte and that you will all be together again one day will fill you with HIS peace. David and I shared life's path many years ago for a very brief period. I knew him as a visionary, always sharing his hopes and dreams for the future. It is you Hannah that David knew and felt is his greatest accomplshment. May God bless and keep each of you always.

I have known David since he first came to Greensboro, and always found him among the most positive and upbeat persons I have ever known. I was glad to be a friend of his, and he of mine. We will miss David.
I cannot help but think of the A.E. Housman poem that follows:
To an Athlete Dying Young
by A. E. Housman (1859-1936)
The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.
To-day, the road all runners come,
Shoulder-high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town.
Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields where glory does not stay
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.
Eyes the shady night has shut
Cannot see the record cut,
And silence sounds no worse than cheers
After earth has stopped the ears:
Now you will not swell the rout
Of lads that wore their honours out,
Runners whom renown outran
And the name died before the man.
So set, before its echoes fade,
The fleet foot on the sill of shade,
And hold to the low lintel up
The still-defended challenge-cup.
And round that early-laurelled head
Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead,
And find unwithered on its curls
The garland briefer than a girl's.

Hannah,
We have known you and your father since both families entered Brooks Global Studies. We have always found your dad to be a very kind and loving gentleman. He was so proud of you and love you more than life itself. David was very active in trying to have the Dad's club started at Brooks. He was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed. Please focus on all the fond and great memories that you and your father shared. He was great role model and father figure to all the students @ Brooks. We may never understand death but he lived a great life. We love you and are praying for you and your family.

H....Your dad used to tell me everyday about your days & expressed how he wanted us all to spend more time together. He was SO proud of you & loved you more then any dad I ever knew could love a child. I had only 1 precious yr to know, be loved, & love him & experience his true pure unconditional love. His greatest desire was for you to know God's love & obey Him & to believe that your dad loved you with an everlasting unconditional, that was not perfect but reflected God's perfect love. I know he had that love for you & he brought that in my life the way no human ever did to me. I will love & miss him forever.

Terri and Hannah-I just wanted you both to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. It is hard to understand why people are taken from us,but find comfort in knowing you were a special part of such a well-lived life.

It was a priviledge to cross paths with Mr. Kragh. My colleague and I were sad to hear the devastating news. The short time we spent together he discussed his daughter. You could feel the admiration and love he had for her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Hannah & Terri,
I am so incredibly shocked and sorry to hear about you and the world losing David. It would be impossible to forget that sweaty, healthy body arriving at school on his bike for lunch with Hannah, always grinning at my jabs and never taking them seriously, being good-natured all the time. That's what made it so fun to tease him.
Hannah, I vividly remember my surprise at finding out that your parents actually weren't married, because they took such good care of you TOGETHER, and were always at every school function from kindergarten on, sitting side by side with huge grins and obvious devotion for you. That never changed and through the years we've seen you thrive and grow in confidence that you are deeply important to this world because your mom and dad showed you every day. Your dad will want that feeling of preciousness to be one of his legacies to you.
My heart is broken for you, but I am also so glad you had this positive influence in your life. Know you are loved by many out in the community, both of you.

Hahhah Im so sorry for your loss. He was great, always being funny, he would ride his bike to school just to see you. There is no doubt that you have someone watching over you, even though you would get upset, it was clear that he loved you and would never stop. He was aslays kind and just full of life, no one could stop smiling when he is around. Mrs. Terri you and Mr.Kragh always worked it out so that bout you could be apart of Hannahs life I will always admire you for that. You guys will be in my thought and prayers.

I worked with David some years ago on jewelry-related projects, and remember most his enthusiasm and infectious energy. His personality was unique, his smile was large and I am certain he will be sorely missed. He is now a great guardian angel for those he loved.

There was never a question who was in the room when David walked in. His passion for life and vibrant smile encompassed all around him. I/we had the pleasure of knowing David (thru his daughter Hannah)he always had a smile on his face and time to talk to you-which is rare in today's society. It was extremely evident that his entire life revolved around his daughter, when he was around her he glowed with love. He was always a pleasure to speak to, he will be missed and the world is a lonelier place without him.
