David Howard "Dave" Leeson

David Howard Leeson, known affectionately as Dave, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2024, in Fairfax, Virginia at 58 years old. Born on January 9, 1966, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Dave was always proud of his birth state "West By-God Virginia". He attended West Virginia University in Morgantown and graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

He moved to Maryland, then later Virginia, where he worked as an engineer for several government contractors. For the past 17 years, he worked for the US Navy (NAVSEA) in Submarine Rescue, and most recently on the LCS program at the Washington Navy Yard, in Washington DC.

Dave is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years, Anne, his beloved family and friends, and their 2 rescue cats Cole and Nell. He was extremely good-hearted and was always willing to help people.

Dave was an avid sports fan. His favorite sports teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Washington Capitals. Along with attending sporting events, he enjoyed camping, hiking, and the outdoors. He loved music, especially classic rock, 80's, and country music, and attending concerts. His favorite song was Country Roads by John Denver.

His wife Anne and he loved to travel, and took many wonderful vacations together, including trips to England, Hawaii, California, and New England. Dave had a great sense of humor and enjoyed posting funny pictures on his Facebook page.

A private visitation for close family members is scheduled for Saturday, July 13th, 2024. Following this, a Celebration of Life event will be held the same day from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
