David Franklin Leeves

David Franklin Leeves was born on May 14, 1945 in Texarkana, Texas. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2023, David passed away on January 16, 2024 with his family by his side.

David graduated from the University of Houston School of Pharmacy in 1968. In 1969 he and his wife Paula moved to Lufkin where they raised their three sons. In 1972, David bought the pharmacy in the Thomas Spivey Clinic and in 1984 opened Leeves Pharmacy on Gaslight Boulevard. David sold Leeves pharmacy in 1997 and continued to work in the Lufkin area until his retirement in 2011.

David was an avid cameraman and at every family event he was the official picture and movie taker. He interviewed everyone and took great pleasure in watching all the children scatter as "Uncle David" approached them for an interview. When he set up his tripod everyone knew it was time for the yearly picture.

David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Paula; sons: Greg, Jason (Melanie) and Corey (Gretchen) ; grandchildren: Madison, Mason, MacKennon, Maddox and Ava Hull; sisters and brothers in law: Pat & Chris Kennaugh, Pam & David Greene & Peggy & Allan Ritter; cousin: Dee Ann Cook whom he considered a sister; also several nieces, nieces & cousins. David was a member of Oakwood Church in New Braunfels, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at Oakwood Church 2154 TX-337 Loop, New Braunfels, TX 78130 on February 15th at 10 A.M.
