To David's Family
I was deeply distressed to learn earlier today of David's death. I got to know David durning his frequent business trips to Thailand. David was so much fun. He had a keen sense of the absurd and boy could he talk! David I will miss you and may peace be with you.

I am shocked and very saddened by the demise of David.........he was actually a very kind generous and always jolly person ...........a big smile was how I was always greeted by him.
My last email from him was wanting to know about me , that was his way always interested to know about me first......Hello darling sam I hope this finds you happy and healthy Where are you on your waty to england or Mykonos ?What have you been up to ? He then told me what he had been up to ( as usual it seemed to me ) running around the USA and Canada doing his business .........he had a great talent and flair for what he did ( we have a carpet that i ordered through him the year before last and the attention to detail he took when preparing the order was fantastic .getting all the colours right. Its in our sitting room now .
There is no doubt those of us who knew him in Thailand will miss his company , i certainly shall miss that beaming smile and watching him arrive to sit at the pool of my hotel.......knowing alot of the other people he would great them as he walked by with a smile or a joke. Its very hard to believe he is not longer going to be around.
I had an open invitation to Vancouver which i never managed to do , i regret that now......friends of mine were there once and he not only invited them for a drink but they stayed the whole eveing as he had prepared dinner !What fun he was.......!
He loved his family and often spoke of them.I feel desperately sad for them in their tragic loss.
Please accept my deepest condolenses.
Good bye David , it was great to have known you.
I think in Bangkok we shall do something in his memory round his birthday time .
With love and fond memories

Dear Peter, Robin, Andrea and Nancy
Memories of our childhood years in Montreal came flooding back when I read of David's passing. How much teasing and laughter we had all those years ago! The last time I saw David was in Edmonton almost 20 years ago, but sadly we didn't stay in touch. Your brother was a gem of a person and I'm privileged to have known him.

David was a special friend I had the pleasure to come to know in Bangkok on his frequent business visits to Thailand. Warm-hearted, fun, generous of himself, without a mean bone in his body, talented in spades and deserving every happiness. Thank you for the privilege of knowing you, David. My heart-felt condolences to all his family and wide circle of friends.

Ben and I knew David towards the end of his life: whenever asked for something david gave freely and readily. He was to visit us here in Denmark on July 26th. Time ran out. David- we miss you.

Our deepest sympathy to Chris, Dianna, Dave and the Lockhart family. We met David through our good friends. To us, he was always a gentleman, blessed with social graces and the gift of conversation. He was also a great dancer and outrageous flirt. We are glad we had the chance to know him.

To the Lockhart family,
My sincere condolences for the loss of David. He was a client of mine and one of the finest and most visionary Interior Designer's I have met. I feel blessed to have been able to work with David. He taught me many things with no thought of gaining anything in return. He was a generous and kind soul. He will be greatly missed.
