We have lost a man who touched many people with his enthusiasm and generosity and love of learning and politics and who lived a very full life. My condolences for his extended family who are scattered across North America. It was lovely that so many could be with him in his final months.

It was our pleasure to have known such a fine individual who entertained us at many dinners with both his knowledge and humour. It is with sadness that we have learned of Mort's passing and we pass our condolences along to you and all the family.
