When I think of Dave a smile comes to mind. I most remember his positive mental attitude and willingness to share his knowledge. I fondly remember out time together at Alyeska and his patience working with a thick headed Operator. Rest in peace Dave and may God's blessing comfort your family.

David was an encouragement to me when we attended school together at Haskell. He help me pass all my classes by sharing his smartness and ever gentle & kind spirit.
It was really good to see him on the Yukon River a few years ago; to him I am grateful.

Dave was always so friendly, accommodating, and so very skilled at his craft. He'd always greet me with a warm smile and a gentle "Hello Miss Cathy." It was so good to see him come back to Pump Station 1 after he retired. The photo in his obituary reminds me so much of Dave Luke Jr., whom I also really enjoy working with. When my husband (also worked with Dave Sr.) read Dave's obituary in the paper, he exclaimed, "Oh no! Not Dave Luke!" Dave touched a lot of people's hearts.
I'm am so very sorry for the loss of your dear husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

I was fortunate to meet David in Seattle in 1970 with Bernard Hunt where we were all young guys working. I recently saw him at ANMC where we were being treated and it was good to see him again. He was a talented Alaskan Native. Peace to your memory friend.

I first met Dave in 1978, when I joined Alyeska's instrument department with no experience. He was one of the first techs to take the time to train me and make sure I got the fundamentals. I was sorry to lose a mentor when Dave transferred to the Pipeline. Fast forward to 1986 when I transferred to PS03 and Dave was the instrument tech there. Once again he generously shared his extensive knowledge with me and made sure I was ready when he transferred again, 6 months later. I will be forever grateful for the solid foundation he gave me, which opened up the years of opportunities I had with Alyeska. My deepest condolences to his family.

I was fortunate to work with Dave for several years at PS03 and have many fond memories and stories involving him during those years. He was so funny and helpful. A great friend I lost track of when I transferred and then moved out of state.

A good man.
Not only a great guy to hang with but the kind of guy that when he was around and the place was going into the dirt you knew he would fix it. You will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. My sincere condolence for all in the family. May the words of Hosea give you hope. Hosea 13:14

My prayers and condolences to family and so many friends. David was a wonderful man, very much respected as a person, and as an Instrumentation Technician on the pipeline. He was a joy to be around with such a good outlook on life. His smile and laugh were unforgettable. David was a brilliant man and could understand and troubleshoot almost any problem. We would turn to him if we needed help. Rest in peace Dave. On this side of eternity we lost a good man.

I met David back in 1983. He was always so happy and friendly. I had talked to him over the phone a couple times in the past year. The last time I talked to him was just a couple weeks ago. He wanted to hear how my family was and didn't want to talk about himself and his illness. That is the David I remember, so kind, and thoughtful to the end. Elsie I think of you every day and am so sorry about David's passing.

I met David while working at Alyeska many years ago. He was a very genuine and happy person, one that you will not ever forget. I was blessed to know him, as I'm sure many others are as well. Rest in peace, David. We will all miss you.
