DAVID MAINVILLE Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 2 to May 3, 2023.
David Albert Mainville Sr. passed away on April 15, 2023, at Kaiser Hospital in Modesto, California. He was born on July 7, 1952, in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Dave grew up in Holyoke, Massachusetts, then moved to Sonora in 1968, where he later met and married his wife, Charlene (Babbitt), in 1971.
Dave was a member and deacon at Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church of God in San Andreas, California. He was very active in the church and loved to play his banjo during service. He also loved to sing and did often. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and shared Jesus with everyone he met and now is in the very presence of the Lord.
Dave commuted to Escalon, California, where he built and installed wheelchair lifts for buses. He later started working for the mill in Standard until they closed down, then went back to school and trained to drive buses and got a job at Tuolumne County Transit in Sonora until he retired in 2017.
Dave loved to golf and often golfed with his three sons and grandson, Mason. He was also an avid fan of the Lakers basketball and Oakland A's baseball teams and loved going to the games. You would always see him wearing his Lakers or A's hats.
Dave had a smile, sense of humor and laugh that everyone enjoyed. We are all going to miss him but we know, whether it be through death or the soon coming Rapture, we will see him again.
Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlene Mainville, of Tuolumne; his sons, David Mainville Jr., of Sonora, and Ronald and Michael Mainville, of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Marina, Alvin, and Alexia Mainville, of Sonora, Xena Mainville, of Oakdale, Aleesha Natasha Mainville Brinsfield, of Missouri, and Cayden and Mason Mainville, of North Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Nola, Attikes, Vincent, Logan and Aeris, of Sonora. He also has numerous nieces, nephews, great aunts and uncles, and cousins in Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire.
Dave was preceded in death by his mom, Theresa Gagne Mainville Rozell, in 1974, and dad, Albert David Mainville, in 1968, Holyoke, Massachusetts; his three sisters, Rose Mainville Obuchowski in 2018, Massachusetts, Anita Mainville Audet, 2019 Massachusetts, Jean Mari Mainville, of Massachusetts; his grandson Elijah Mainville, 9 years old, 2017 in Sonora.
A service is to be determined at a later time. Donations can be made to Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church of God, P.O. Box 1464, San Andreas, California 95249, (209) 588-8595.
