David Robert Major, 74, husband of Rahnda T. Major, passed over into the presence of the Lord to his eternal home on Monday, August 21, 2023. His funeral service will be held Friday, August 25, 2023, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 12:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM.

David was born in Waycross, GA. He was the son of The Reverend Robert W. Major and Bess D. Major. He was the brother of the late John and late Susan Major. He is survived by his loving wife, Rahnda, of 52 years;  Daughter, Aimee M. Steinberger (Mitch); granddaughters, Rose and Jasmine; Son, Aaron R. Major.

David was a graduate of Mars Hill College and was a self-taught audio visual contractor, but David's focus was his love for his family, children, and grandchildren. David always said we would have fun no matter what because we're together. He focused on giving us an attractive safe home and could fix anything. David was devoted to being a man of character, and following God's leading hand. He loved music of all kinds, and sang in choirs everywhere he lived. Today he is singing in Heaven!

Dear Aaron ,
I am so sorry for the sudden loss of your Dad. I am praying for you and your family. I know your Dad was so proud of the fine man that you have become. I remember what a sweet young boy you were when you and Brett played together. How blessed your mother is to have you to lean on. Please know that I would like to help in any way. Just give me a call at (843) 576-9220. Sincerely, Rita Nelson

Our shared interest in (or should I say addiction to) motorcycling brought about our acquaintance, and I'm very glad that it did. David was friendly, positive, and always helpful if ever needed. I will miss him, and I will think of him often.

So sorry to hear of David's passing. Seems like I was reading emails from him not even 6 months ago. I'll always remember him riding his motorcycle and for the smart and easy going guy he was.

My father in law was always so supportive and loving of me, his daughter, and his granddaughters. He was never the type to regard me as not good enough, even though he loved his daughter, my wife, beyond measure. I will treasure the memory of David Major always and hope that I can rise to his example in so many ways. Godspeed.
