David Mark Mattingly born on September 23, 1962, in Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away

unexpectedly on November 7, 2025. He is remembered with love and respect by his family and

community. David was a devoted husband to his wife of 39 years, Denise Haller Mattingly, a loving father to

his children, Dustin M. Mattingly of Martinsburg, WV and Deidre M. Mattingly (Tim) of Raleigh,

NC. He was also the cherished son of James E. Mattingly and Jeneane "Bonnie" Mattingly of

Charleston, WV. In addition to his immediate family, David held a special bond with his sisters,

Dina Mohler (Bill), Danita Nellhaus (Kurt), and Debora Mattingly, all of Charleston, WV and all

who will miss him dearly. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1980 and continued his education at various

colleges and universities, all while working full time and traveling until completing his Masters

Degree at Capella University in Business Administration and E-Commerce. His work in Medical

Equipment and Service took him to many states where he made lifelong friends at SSI,

Hill-Rom, UHS, BeliMed and BeliMed Life Science. David shared his passion for music by playing the drums for the church's praise band at Riverbluff Church. He was a proud member of the Lowcountry Model A Club and enjoyed taking out his 1928 Model A whenever he got the chance. He found pleasure in the simple things like a

good cigar, the darkest of beers, helping out a friend, finding a reason to add to his tool

collection, riding on one of his vintage motorcycles, spoiling his grand-fur-kids and a perfectly

timed sarcastic remark. Visitation services to honor David's life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel 2180 Greenridge Road from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Celebration

of Life Service will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at Riverbluff Church

5421 Riverbluff Pkwy North Charleston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the

service on Saturday at Riverbluff Church. David Mark Mattingly, known affectionately by his friends as "MadDog", leaves behind a legacy of steadfast friendships, faith and the ability to see the good in all things, as well as the ability to rock an epic mustache. He will be profoundly missed by his family and all who had the honor to

know him. Arrangements have been entrusted to J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in David's honor to either the

American Red Cross or K9s for Warriors. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com
