Nina and family, our condolences go out to you for the passing of David. He was always so kind to Perry when he worked on your home's heating system. Perry also grew up in the Mt Baker area and was always delighted that he and David had something in common with their roots. Nina, you are so nice. We wish you and your family the best.

I was Secretary of Washington Mediation Association (then called Mediation Consortium of Washington State) when Dave was President. Working with him was both fun and inspiring. I'll miss seeing his smiling face at local mediation events and around town. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Uncle David was a kind and gentle man. His smile was gracious and his eyes were warm. David's love & devotion to Nina, Alex, Whitney and Teddy was an unselfish gift he gave so freely. Rest in peace David! Until we see eachother again. I love you!

I worked with Dave for several years on the Board of the King County Dispute Resolution Center. He was always so warm and caring, and committed to brining mediation to everyone in the community-- not just those who could afford to hire lawyers. I think I remember his laugh as much as anything... he will be missed. Many thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I remember Dave's wonderful personality and sense of kindness. His talent as a sculptor and artist was so impressive. I as well as many others, were drawn to his aesthetic sense, and warm inclusiveness along with a fey sense of humor.
I'm so glad Nina made him happy. It was a pleasure to meet both of them a couple years ago. My prayers and condolences go out to all of you. Sharon Van Valin

My fondest memory of Dave was his time as Social Chairman of the Beta House. For a backdrop of pictures taken at the White Cotillion, he stole a wrought iron love seat from a Walla Walla resident. He gave it a fresh coat of paint to match his decor and then un-stole it the next morning. As I recall, that happened two consecutive years. I don 't think the owners even minded.
Then there was the time he had all of us move our beds from the sleeping porch to the living room for a party. Poor Peg, our House Mother, had a very anxious night.

David was so happy on November 4th -- he was thrilled Obama won. He also shared with me his excitement about his son who had contact with higher ups on the transition staff. We admire how well Nina and dear Alexandra are faring during this difficult time. David also was very kind to our brother, Bo, and for this we are grateful. At many gatherings at the Masons, Mike enjoyed being in David's gazebo with a smaller group of folks where he could just talk with David. We will miss him! The Wandells

As a Lakeside classmate of Dave's, he invited me in 1959 to join him for Christmas in Hawaii hosted by his relative Webely Edwards. What fun! And Dave was very funny, I'll miss him, a very good man.
