Earlier today
I served with David in the Florida Senate in the early 70's. As a young Republican freshman, David befriended me very early in my tenure. I considered him amongst my best friends in Tallahassee. We shared many good times together.
I'll miss you my friend.

Yesterday
I knew David for over 50 years. Although we did not serve together I know how dedicated he was to the Florida Senate and the State of Florida. He was a good man who I respected very much.

I enjoyed serving with David in the Florida Senate (1972-1974) and receiving his support in saving Florida´s Historic Capitol (1902).
A true patriot and public servant of integrity, never afraid of crossing party lines or standing alone for a cause he believed in.
May God rest his soul.

David was a first-class act - a man of honor, integrity, and quiet strength. A true soldier in every sense of the word, he carried himself with dignity and lived with purpose. He loved his family andwas someone other men would do well to emulate.
My deepest condolences go out to the family
I admired his intelligence - beyond that, he was very thoughtful, sharp, and wise beyond measure, deeply committed to the people and principles he believed in. His loyalty ran deep, and you could feel the strength of his word just by being around him.
Warm and welcoming, he always made me feel seen and respected, which is atrue gift in a friend. A dapper dresser with a quick wit and a bubbling personality, he truly was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
I´m honored and grateful to have spent quality time with him. He will live on in our hearts, memories, and minds always. And every Fourth of July, I will remember him and salute his legacy.
