David Chad Merrill

There once was a great sportsman and outdoorsman named Dave. Dave left us prematurely due to a sudden heart attack. He will be so very missed by all who loved him. Dave lived his life as an arborist and expert tree climber, running his own business Heritage Tree Experts. He helped so many clients, friends and family sharing his knowledge of arboriculture and his love of trees. When Dave wasn't climbing trees he was in the mountains hunting, fishing and camping, he even competed in mountain man competitions. He was an excellent bowman but fishing was his passion. Dave nearly fished every stream, reservoir and lake in Utah. He was successful at catching all 5 species of Utah trout, which is a great accomplishment. Dave also loved softball and his softball family, playing on several leagues each year within the Salt Lake City valley. Friends and family describe Dave as being kind, giving, genuine, funny, calm and generous. There's the saying, " He'd give you the shirt off his back" which aptly describes Dave. If you were ever in need of anything, help, rescue or just a friend, you could call on Dave and he would be there. Our lives will never be the same without him.
