My sympathies to David´s family. I knew him in West Virginia in the late 1970s, when he was very active in encouraging social change. A fine person who truly made a difference.

David inspired us to form the Southern Appalachian Labor School when he was in the Beckley-Montgomery area of West Virginia in the late 1970's. He was a real friend, very generous, and extremely articulate. David made an impact in West Virgini a that has continued to this day and I wish to convey sincere sympathy to his entire family. My heart reaches out to Philomina, Arthur and George. David helped so many and changed so many lives by his work. The hand and upper extremity world also benefited by the numerous mission trips he organized, and the window into Indian lives he opened to so many. We will not forget you David!
