Dear Maddy and family, From the bottom of our hearts, our deepest sympathy and love goes out to each and everyone of you.
I have so many wonderful memories of the years when I worked closely with Gord in his capacity of Assistant Principal at Killarney Junior High School and my position of Administrative Assistant. Side by side we worked hard together, put in long hours together, piloted new district initiatives together (always wanted to be on the cutting edge) and we had so much fun together. Gord always found the sunny side of every situation and I learned to care for him as a great friend. As well, Gord encouraged me in many areas, to stand up for my rights, to believe in myself and to have confidence in my decisions and to...Go for it! What do you have got to lose?. I am sure that all of you have heard those words many times. Many years later I have acquired a position with the district where I am now able to make some significant differences for our support staff and their futures within the district. Shortly after my promotion, I received an email from Gord congratulating me and what else but giving me more encouragement. I emailed a reply reminding him of his huge part in my successes and thanking him once again, for everything.
Dave and I loved receiving Gord's Christmas letters. We began to feel that not only did we know both Maddy and him but, his kids and their families as well. These were always happy upbeat letters and an important part of our Christmas that we will miss.
We were truly happy to hear that Gord had received his heart transplant this spring and are so grateful that even if for only a few short months, Gord was able to once again enjoy his life to the fullest.
Gord will be remembered in our hearts forever and the memories he left will always be with us.
God Bless all of you and care for you through the difficult days ahead.
Just remember, Gord is watching over all of you with that big smile of his beaming down. He was so proud of the accomplishments of each member of his wonderful much loved family. You were all such a source of joy to him.
With love and sympathy....Dave and Gail Leslie

To Bryan and the entire Muir family - Our deepest sympathies on your loss. Your father loved nothing more than seeing those he loved enjoying themselves in his presence. And that is how he will be remembered - smiling, beaming with pride whenever we saw him with his children, with his grandchildren and with his wife. May you also be comforted by these memories.
Our Love and prayers are with you,
Barry & Wendy
