David was born on a farm at Cresbard and at the age of 1 he moved to Conde, S.D., and later to Rockham, S.D., where he lived until he enlisted in the Air Force. When he was discharged, he settled in California and spent his life as a barber and handyman.
David was known for his big heart and always willing to help people in need. He was a past member of the Donald A. Lewis Legion Post at Conde, S.D.
Davis leaves to mourn his sisters, Betty Lenling of Groton, S.D., Eileen Taylor of West Los Angeles, Calif., Shirley Tennis of Conde, S.D., Neva Carpenter of Montgomery, Ala., and Sharon Hildreth of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews and personal friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis “Tootie” Harford of Redfield; and two brothers, Jerry of Denver, Colo., and Austin “Bud” of Sacramento, Calif.
