David Leung Ng

David Leung Ng, 76, passed away January 7, 2019, in Bozeman, Montana, from a recently diagnosed bile duct cancer in his liver.

David was born in Baguio City, Philippines to Stephen Ng Hoi and Lina Leung. He grew up in Baguio and attended American school, with aspirations of higher education in the United States. He moved to Bozeman in 1961 to attend Montana State University, and graduated in 1968 with degree in business after dabbling in electrical engineering coursework. At university he met native Montanan Rita Raye Matney. David and Rita were married May 16, 1970, in the chapel at Brent School, Baguio City. They lived in the Philippines where David ran the family imported food business when he wasn't getting into trouble driving too fast in his beloved blue and white 1968 Pontiac Lemans, which was modified with a Corvette engine.

After the dictatorship and martial law was declared in the Philippines in 1972, David and Rita moved back to Bozeman for good. David worked for Hines Motor Supply from the time he moved to Bozeman permanently until the mid-90s, when he worked for Churchill Equipment before retiring. He enjoyed repairing and modifying cars, motor components, and electronics in his spare time, amassing an impressive collection of up to seven Peugeot 505s after the end of Peugeot American distribution.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Lina; and his son, Andrew David Ng.

David is survived by his wife, Rita of Bozeman; brother, Stephen of Baguio City, Philippines; daughter, Teresa (Doug) of Camas, WA; daughter, Amanda (Jared) of Burlington, VT; son, Charles (Jackie) of Bozeman; and grandkids, Anne, Kelly, Hazel, and Ari.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
