David Nichols Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 18 to Nov. 19, 2022.
David Bryan Nichols, son of David Dewey Nichols (1945-2011) and Ruby Elizabeth Nichols (1946), was born on October 29, 1970. Bryan Nichols had passed away early into the morning of the 11th of November 2022. In Bryan's early years he grew up in a very small house in Gibbs; however, humble beginnings were something that made him who he was. He attended school at Gibbs and shortly after, had attended The University of Memphis, with achieving degrees in mathematics and computer sciences. It was there he had resided for over ten years, mastering his degree and building his family. Once Bryan had finished his education, he had already established his career and business. Starting his business with his best friend and coworker, Brian Townsend, he set to conquer the world in many ways. Bryan is survived by his four children, Benjamin Nichols, Alexander Nichols, MacKenzie Nichols, and Miranda Nichols. Also by his wife Ana Leticia Nichols, and mother Ruby Nichols. Bryan will be cherished for the memories and love that he had given to all involved in his life. Bryan was a family man and a businessman all at once, very thoroughly in all aspects. Whether it was golfing, shooting, driving, or anything, he'd always have a way of demonstrating his enjoyment and happiness. My father taught me to be expressive, because no one else is meant to understand you. Bryan raised a family of four to be strong and confident, yet compassionate and headstrong. Bryan was a storyteller at heart, and he was amazing at it; he could start a story out of nowhere, but you best believe it would go into the craziest turns at any moment, much like his father had done. Everyone that truly loved Bryan lives for him, at a time when we may no longer be able to live with him. His legacy was smart, loving, strong, and a model for true success in life. He loved to explore and venture out, especially out west; maybe it was all the cowboy movies he had watched as a kid, or it was something he had felt. Bryan's spirit continues to travel every day, wherever it may be, it has found peace and a place without suffering. It would be difficult to capture such a person's essence like Bryan's with words, but I hope this does him justice.

Bryan, was my life; a beautiful baby boy that was born 52 years ago. I enjoyed watching him grow from a small child to see his achievements throughout his teenage and college years and seeing my grandchildren be born. I will greatly miss him but I know that he was only loaned to the me for a little while
and that I have to let go and return him to his maker. I will cherish him and his memories in my heart forever.
Love You. Mom

only loaned to me for a little
while and that I have to return him to his maker. I will cherish him and his memories forever in my heart,
Mom

Bryan was extremely talented, creative, thoughtful, and had a great sense of humor.
I enjoyed working with Bryan on the UPF Project in Oak Ridge, TN, going out for team lunches at our favorite local restaurant, El Cantarito, and hanging out at the Oak Ridge Sporting Association (ORSA).

A funny Bryan story... I took my daughter, Sophie, to a BTS K-Pop concert in Chicago. When I returned, Bryan had decorated by entire cubicle with BTS posters, figurines, and trading cards. For weeks, and maybe months after, I kept finding BTS memorability at my cubicle.

From conversations at work, it was clear he loved his family very much.

He will be missed!
