There are few among us who have done so much for so many. Beginning during WWII and extending to the end of his life David Oreck is a man who demanded much and gave more. His military service in the Army Air Corps flying missions over Japan made him into a one-of-a-kind patriot. He loved this country to his last breath. The header on his tomb is engraved the flag of the United States of America. He relished wearing military hats and his home a veritable museum of military memorabilia. David Oreck was a great American and I for one am proud to have had the opportunity to spend time with him.
No one knew him better than his lovely wife, Jan. She loved him and devoted her life to him. Watching her in action was analogous to watching an accomplished conductor directing a grand symphony. Her heart and life were in every action and the Oreck family is blessed to have her share the Oreck name.
All those who knew them know that America has lost a a treasure, a great businessman, a great patriot...a great American! God bless David and Jan Oreck!

Dear Jan & family,
I am sending you all so much love and my deepest sympathies. Mr. Oreck was truly the most wonderful mentor ever. I will forever be grateful for my time with him. Thank you for sharing him with so many of us. Mr. Oreck was certainly one of a kind, a man's man, a true gentleman, a hero, and an inspiration to us all.
Sending you much love from Vermont (Mr. Oreck always said it was too cold up here and we should move to NOLA).

Dearest Jan, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. I only met you both once on the farm with Chip and Sandra, but it made an impact on my life. Besides being such wonderful people, Mr. Oreck (I called him) was such a kind and caring person. I'll never forget he took me riding in his pick up truck listening to Frank Sinatra showing me the most beautiful farm I have ever seen. I recently just told Chip how much his video means to me where he discusses to never retire and keep on going. That means a lot to me at this time in my life. I just wanted to express my sincere condolences and my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know he will be missed by many. Your" door photo" is in my great room and I see it everyday. Take care, Love Angie Yard

Jan, you and David rapidly became great friends during our first visit to "the farm" to look at David's J-3 Cub which I ended up buying. Having spent my entire life in sales and marketing, my conversations with David were simply fascinating!! He was one of a kind and I will miss him terribly. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope to see you sometime soon.

Dear Jan,
Please accept our sincere condolences on David's death. David has always been one of our most admired persons and great friend. He had a wonderful zest for life and for his businesses, family, friends, flying, and for our country. We treasured every visit and every call with him and you. You and he were a terrific couple. We would have liked to come for the remembrance, but are unable to fly out of Mauritius in time due to the current Cyclone.
David will always be in our hearts. We give you, and David's entire family, our sincerest sympathy.
