On Thursday, January 4, 2007; Beloved son of Frances Weisberg Ortenberg & Leonard I. Ortenberg. Brother of Dr. Joseph M. (Cecily) Ortenberg of Fort Worth, TX and Nancy M. Ortenberg (Douglas M. Wilson) of Los Angeles, CA. Uncle of Adison, Sydney & Ella Ortenberg and Isabelle & Grace Wilson. Nephew of Janice Ortenberg, Cecele Weisberg Miller & the late Rebecca Weisberg Siegel. Grandson of the late Joseph Weisberg, Rosabelle Weisberg Miller & Philip Miller and Samuel & Pauline Ortenberg. Also survived by cousins & many close friends. Services at RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC, 5509 Centre Ave., Shadyside on Sunday at 3:30 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services (2:30 - 3:30 PM) Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David's name to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, 3705 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.

Dear Ortenberg Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Ort. May your memories of David help you to find peace and may his passing bring honor to his life. He was at all our family gatherings. He was like a brother to my brothers, Howard and Andrew Stone. I have many fond memories of sharing time with him. He was a great guy who unfortunately was taken from us too early. I loved David like a brother. He was like a member of our family. Dave and Michael were so much alike and so close. They spent this last New Year's Eve together at Michael's house, and amazingly they ate Chinese food instead of pizza. My brother is going to be lost without him. Dave, why did you have to leave us? I wish that I could have helped. We miss you and love you.

Dear Fran,
Words can not express or ease your current pain. I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. You will be in my prayers every day to give you strength to make it through these difficult times. please know that I share your sadness and pain. when we loose the life of one so dear it makes our loss so great. Take one day at a time , even if you need one minute at a time and slowly the process of a loss will ease. I know it will never get better , but it will make the healing process less intense.
